Not Mexico
I had a craving for fish tacos. I think I am  longing for Playa del Carmen more than anything. The beaches, the sun, the delicious seafood tacos at Dr. Taco. Tonight we tried Martha’s recipe for fish tacos.  Although Martha didn’t replace the relief of being in Mexico right now, the tacos were pretty good.

Confession
I just had buttered noodles as a snack before I go work out. Not the healthiest of options, but oh so good. Butter, noodles, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese. I ate them so fast, I couldn’t even get a picture.

Comfort
I am hosting book club this Friday. Since it is mid January and we all have a case of the winter blues, I based my menu on my top comfort foods.  Ina’s mac and cheese and  strawberry shortcake. There will also be a plethora of wine and beer to go around. The book up for discussion is The Girls.  It shall be a good night! via

Get it Started
Is there anything better than a strong cup of coffee in the morning? I think not. Today’s coffee selection is Dunkin’ Donuts. I don’t know why it took me so long to try it.

Damsel in Distress
I had quite an eventful morning. The boiler in my building was overheating, there was smoke and an awful gassy smell. This lead me to grab the dog, leave the house and call 911. Five firetrucks full of firemen came to this damsel’s rescue. The heroic men said that is was a close call and if it would have gone much longer there would have been a fire. I am very thankful I was working at home...

Nina and Dugan
We are dog sitting this weekend. Nina is a pit bull who was running loose on a street in Minneapolis a couple of years ago. No collar, no owners to claim her.  Mike’s brother took her in. He tried to find a home for her, but before you know it he fell in love. We all did. Nina is the sweetest dog and she gets along swimmingly with Dugan. Much of Saturday was spent on the couch cuddling with...

Restaurants I must try, 2011 Edition
When I started this blog, I had a post with a list of restaurants that I was hungry to try. I think I did pretty good at chipping away at the list and at my wallet. 2011 is a new year, with a new list. 2011 Piccolo- If it is good enough for Anthony Bourdain, then I must try it. Heartland- From farm to table concept, can’t beat that. Il Gatto- Tim McKee helped to reinvent it, nough said. ...

New Year's Dinner
Since Mike and I didn’t get to ring in the new year together. We splurged on a decadent meal at home. Ribeye with this delicious sauce, mushrooms and broccoli.  Sinful, but oh so good.
