I need an onion and a can of Guinness for the steak and guinness pot pie I am making tonight.
The Guinness and onion that Mike forgot to get at the store. We have a liquor store down the block from us. He just left for the liquor store to get the beer and he said he will stop at the bar along the way and barter for an onion.

2011 Milestones
It was a big year over here. Last year I named 20 great things that happened in 2010. This year I am going to keep it short and sweet.
After 6 1/2 years, we got engaged!
After 8 1/2 years I finally went back to graduate school. To do this I quit my teaching job.

The thing about Christmas shopping
Yesterday, Mike and I spent a good part of our day at the Mall of America (kill me). It was needed as we hadn’t really started our holiday shopping. I don’t do well with buying gifts for people. Tonight I get to meet the newest addition to our family, Harper Luella. Babies are much more fun in person, rather than on Facebook.

I feel awful.
This morning I was on my way to brunch, heading west on Highway 94. As I was crossing the river I hit a Bald Eagle, a freaking eagle! I saw him struggling to fly, about 10-15 feet up in the air, he landed breifly on the right hand shoulder and tried to take flight again just as I was passing him.

We have all of our recycling (from this past weekend) sitting outside of our backdoor. There may be close to two beer cases of empties (possibly more). We have new neighbors moving in today and I heard the guy say, “looks like these guys had a party,” in a very snarky way.
