It’s been over 2 years since I have had weekends off and I am loving it. There is just something about the energy on a Friday afternoon, knowing that for two days, the world is your oyster. It was a low key weekend, sometimes I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Friday, Mike and started our evening out with a run consisting of hills and stairs. I walked more than I wanted to, but it just guarantees that I will keep attempting that route until I can rock it. We then headed out to the Happy Gnome for beers and apps with my cousins. They have a great beer list and I enjoyed sampling the seasonal variety. My favorite was Southern Tier’s Pumking beer.  MIke and I then went to dinner at the Cheeky Monkey and we finished off the night by walking Dugan to a neighborhood bar for a night cap.
Saturday was a rainy and cozy kind of day. Dugan got a couple walks, we went to the farmer’s market, had breakfast with Mike’s dad and then showed him our new apartment, we are a little obsessed and can’t wait to move in. Mike worked in the evening, so I picked up some movies, a pizza from Punch and settled in for the night. I watched Bling Ring (hated it, the characters were so annoying) and The Place Beyond the Pines (great movie, with an interesting story line, plus Ryan Gosling).
Sunday, I made an early trip to the grocery store, walked Dugan, put Chicken and Dumplings in the crockpot, cleaned the house, had a fabulous 5 mile run, made homemade breakfast sandwiches and started a new book. Plus my fantasy football team kicked ass.
Here’s to a great week!
Cheers.
